Origin and history

Saint-Martin de Thiéville Church is a Catholic religious building located in the town of Thiéville, a delegated commune of Saint-Pierre-en-Auge, in the Calvados department in Normandy. Built in the 13th century, it is a typical example of medieval religious architecture in this region.

The bell tower and the western façade of the church were classified as historical monuments by order of 22 October 1913. This protection highlights their heritage and architectural importance, although other parts of the building do not enjoy this official recognition.

The church is mentioned in historical works, such as the Monumental Statistique du Calvados d'Arcisse de Caumont (1867), which describes its architectural characteristics. Today, it remains a place of worship and a central element of the local heritage, managed by the commune of Saint-Pierre-en-Auge.
