Origin and history
The Church of St.Martin of Vindrac-Alayrac, listed as a Historic Monument in 1927, was built in the 15th century. Its architecture is characterized by a nave ending in a polygonal choir, while its windows retain snails with snails. The keys and blazers are decorated with vegetal motifs, coats of arms and inscriptions, reflecting the craft of the time.
In the 16th century, the original bell tower, with a square base, was raised from two octagonal floors in cut stone. An architectural peculiarity lies in the alignment of the batteries on the second floor with the bays on the lower floor, creating a harmonious visual effect. The interior paintings, added much later in the 19th century, testify to a later aesthetic evolution.
The building, owned by the commune, illustrates medieval and Renaissance construction techniques. Its ranking in 1927 underscores its heritage value, especially for its atypical bell tower and its preserved decorative elements. Sources also indicate an approximate location, with a geolocalized accuracy index considered fair (note 5/10).
