Origin and history

The Ferme Musée rustice de Saint-Léger-près-Troyes is an ethnographic museum located in an old farm in the village of Saint-Léger-près-Troyes, in the department of the Aube, in the Grand Est region. This site, transformed into a tourist and cultural area, illustrates the local architectural heritage through its wood-paned buildings, typical of the region. It is organized around a courtyard bordered by the creek of the Mang IAbbe, offering a picturesque and authentic setting.

The museum houses a collection of over 1,500 objects related to daily life and traditional farming practices. Among its remarkable elements are a functional bread oven and several houses organized to trace the rural and artisanal history of the Dawn. Animations, such as tales, are regularly offered to enrich the visitor experience and pass on local know-how.

The objective of the Museum Farm is to preserve and enhance the popular arts as well as the construction techniques of wood panels, characteristic of the built heritage of this part of Champagne. The site is part of a cultural mediation process, linking the public to the living history of the Aubois countryside.
