Origin and history
Croas-an-Teurec, located in the commune of Saint-Goazec in Finistère (Bretagne), is a megalithic group dating from the Neolithic period. This site consists of three menhirs and two dolmens in ruins, arranged according to a so-called "kicked" configuration. It illustrates the funeral and ritual practices of the Neolithic societies of the region, marked by the erection of stone monuments.
Ranked a Historical Monument by order of 8 February 1924, this site bears witness to the archaeological importance of Brittany, rich in prehistoric remains. Menhirs and dolmens, although partially in ruins, offer an overview of the construction techniques and spatial organization of the communities of the time. Their preservation allows us to study the beliefs and social structures of the Neolithic in Armoric.
The location of the site, reported with an accuracy considered "passable" (note 5/10), is located near the place called Roquinarc'H, at the boundary of the communes of Saint-Goazec and Saint-Rivoal. This area, like many in Brittany, concentrates a dense megalithic heritage, reflecting an ancient human occupation and cultural landscapes shaped by these monuments. No information is available on any sponsors or specific uses of this site, but its classification attests to its heritage value.
