Origin and history
The house of the Baudinière, located in Chapelle-Viviers in New Aquitaine, is a belgium built in the 17th century. This historic monument is distinguished by its central house body framed by two pavilions in return for square, forming a terrace raised from the courtyard. The facade, organized on two levels plus a high floor, has triangular pediments. Inside, a central vestibule distributes the rooms, housing a straight-fly staircase and a 17th-century fireplace, still kept upstairs.
The Baudinière fief is attested as early as 1500, but the current construction dates back to the 17th century, with changes in 1904. This house reflects the architecture of the common farmhouses in the southeast of Vienna, Indre and Limousin. Its protected elements include facades, roofs, stairway and a 17th century fireplace, inscribed in the Historical Monuments by order of 6 March 1987.
The Baudinière is part of the landscape of local gentilhommières, often linked to farming and seigneurial life. These residences, less imposing than the castles, testify to the rural social organization, where the land nobility coexisted with agricultural activities. Their architecture, both functional and elegant, reflects the representation and management needs of the domains at that time.
