Logis de la Harderie (cad. A 465): registration by order of 26 December 1991
Origin and history
Le Logis de la Harderie is a residence in the commune of Thorigné-d'Anjou, Maine-et-Loire, in the region of Pays de la Loire. Built in the first half of the 17th century, this house illustrates the residential architecture of this period in Anjou. The building has been listed as a historic monument since 26 December 1991, reflecting its heritage importance and the desire to preserve this type of home characteristic of modern times.
In the first half of the 17th century, the Anjou, like other French regions, experienced a period of relative stability after the disturbances of the religious wars. The houses of this time often reflect the social rise of the nobility or the local bourgeoisie, which invests in comfortable residences representative of their status. These houses, although less imposing than castles, play a central role in the social and economic organization of the countryside, serving as places of life, land management and sometimes reception.
Their architecture, often sober but elegant, integrates harmoniously into the Angevin rural landscape.
