Origin and history
The house called La Minotière is a house located in Montreuil-Bellay, in the department of Maine-et-Loire, in the region Pays de la Loire. Partly dating from the 17th century, it was mainly built and enlarged in the 18th and 19th centuries. Its architecture combines a raised ground floor with attices or an additional floor, depending on the parts, and roofs with long, broken or croup sections.
The Minotière was listed as historical monuments by order of 4 February 1976, protecting its facades and roofs. This heritage recognition underlines its importance in the local architectural fabric. The house is located on Rue du Boëlle, in an area classified as having a satisfactory geolocation (note 8/10).
Although the sources mention its status as a historical monument and its architectural features, little precise information is available on its history or occupants. The house could have played a role in the daily life of Montreuil-Bellay, a city marked by its medieval heritage and its agricultural and wine-growing activities, typical of Anjou.
Today, La Minotière is referenced in heritage databases such as Mérimée, but its current use (visit, accommodation or other) is not specified in available sources. Its inscription among the historical monuments of Maine-et-Loire makes it an important part of the local heritage.
