Origin and history

The house located 6 Place Perraud in Lons-le-Saunier is part of the urbanization of this place from 1730. Built around the middle of the eighteenth century, it illustrates the civil architecture of this period, with a iron gate typical of local craftsmanship. Its evolution reflects urban transformations, including the addition of a wooden gallery upstairs in the 19th century, characteristic of the functional and aesthetic adaptations of the era.

In the 19th century, the house underwent structural changes, including the addition of the wooden gallery, which enriched its exterior appearance. Around 1900, the apartment on the first floor is embellished by painted ceilings, showing the taste for refined interior decorations at the Belle Époque. These elements, combined with the garden gate and its wrought iron gate, led to its inscription as a Historical Monument by order of 4 July 1996.

The building preserves traces of its history through its facades, roofs, and cage staircase, protected for their heritage value. The accuracy of its location remains medium (level 5/10), but its official address, 6 Place Perraud, allows it to be located in the center of Lons-le-Saunier. Available sources, such as Monumentum, confirm its importance in the local heritage of Burgundy-Franche-Comté.
