Origin and history

The house in Lille, dating from the 17th century, is a historical monument whose facades of numbers 168 and 170-170bis of the rue de Paris were moved to Place Louise-de-Bettignies. This transfer was confirmed by a letter from CRMH (Regional Heritage and Sites Commission) dated 29 October 1985. The facades and roofs of these houses have been officially protected since their registration by order of 12 February 1927.

Originally, these houses were located at 170 and 170bis on Rue Pierre Mauroy (formerly rue de Paris), in the Nord department, in the Hauts-de-France region. Their current location, Place Louise-de-Bettignies, is the result of an operation of preservation and urban redevelopment. Available data indicate that the accuracy of their initial location is considered insufficient, with a score of 3/10 in the Merimée database.

The monument is referenced under the code Insee 59350, corresponding to the town of Lille. Although the practical information on current visits or uses (rents, guest rooms) is not specified, its status as a historical monument makes it an important part of the Lille architectural heritage. Available sources, including Monumentum, highlight its importance in the urban landscape and its history linked to the city's transformations.
