Origin and history
This house, located in Amiens in the department of the Somme, is an emblematic building of the 4th quarter of the 19th century. It marks one of the gateways to the English neighbourhood of the city, an area marked by British architectural influence. Its style combines neo-Gothic and neo-regionalist elements, reflecting the architectural trends of the era, especially through the combined use of brick and stone.
One of the most remarkable elements of this house is its oriel d This detail, typical of the constructions of this period, highlights the influence of British models in the Amienese urban landscape. The house has been partially protected under the Historical Monuments since 2014, with an inscription covering its facades, roofs and interior of the coach pass, excluding subsequent additions such as the veranda.
The location of the house, on the 43rd floor Jules-Ferry, makes it a landmark in the neighborhood. Although private property, its architecture and history bear witness to the urbanization and cultural exchanges between France and England at the end of the 19th century. The accuracy of its geographical location is estimated as satisfactory a priori, based on available data.
