Origin and history
The house in Brux, dating from the 15th century, is classified as a Historic Monument for its first floor window. This architectural detail features a braided lintel decorated with a bat head carved in its tip. The support of the window also has symbolic motifs: a star, a rosette and an open book, typical of late Gothic art.
The protected element, inscribed by decree of 17 April 1935, illustrates the know-how of the artisans of the time. The precise location, 13 Rue du Général Rivaud in Brux (code INSEE 86039), places this monument in the department of Vienna, in New Aquitaine. No information is available on its original use or owners.
The accuracy of the location is assessed as satisfactory a priori (note 6/10), but no data confirm the opening of the site to the public. The sources are limited to the Merimée and Monumentum bases, without mention of local archives or complementary studies.
