Origin and history
The mansion of Anzan, located in Noizay in the department of Indre-et-Loire (region Centre-Val de Loire), is an architectural testimony covering three major periods: the 14th century for its entrance gate, the 16th century for its main rectangular house surmounted by high peaks, and the 18th century for its overhauls and extensions. This central body, once flanked by four round towers, one of which remains today, houses a wooden spiral staircase. Subsequent modifications include two side pavilions added in the late 18th or early 19th century, as well as a monumental central staircase with a balustered wooden ramp, created in the early 18th century.
The oldest façade, oriented towards the courtyard, contrasts with the one revised in the 18th century, illustrating the evolution of architectural styles. The manor house was partially protected by an inscription to the historical monuments on 4 November 1982, covering specifically the medieval gate, the north facade with its turret, and the interior staircases (baluster and spiral centre). These elements reflect both its defensive heritage of the Middle Ages and its adaptation to the aesthetic canons of the following centuries, typical of the noble residences of Touraine.
The official address of the mansion, 697 Francis-Poulenc Road in Noizay, and its Insee code (37171) confirm its anchoring in the local heritage of Indre-et-Loire. Although sources mention approximate GPS coordinates and a "passable" location (note 5/10), the mansion remains an accessible historical landmark, potentially open to contemporary uses such as visits or events, although these practical details are not specified in the documents consulted.
