Origin and history

The Manor House of the City of Colas, located in Trebedan in the Côtes-d'Armor (Bretagne), is a monument dating back to the 16th century. It is surrounded by a courtyard of honour closed by a gate, opening on a French garden designed in 1911, bordered by moat. Two symmetrical buildings, an orange shop and a logger dating from 1786, frame the mansion, while outbuildings (sellery, garages) close the courtyard to the east. Nearby, a farm, a dovecote and a 16th century chapel complete the architectural complex.

Although the manor has stylistic features of the late reign of Louis XV and Louis XVI, its initial construction dates back to the 16th century. He was registered as a historical monument by order of 20 December 1990. The site also includes elements such as a dovecote and a chapel, witnesses to its medieval history and its architectural evolution over the centuries.

The Manor House of the City of Colas is part of a larger complex, including the Château du Chalonge, the construction of which began around 1785. This ensemble reflects a period of architectural transition, mixing classical elements of the eighteenth century with older remains. The precise location of the manor house, at La Ville-Colas, is attested by the Merimée and Monumentum bases, confirming its historical anchoring in the Breton landscape.
