Origin and history
Villefrault Manor House, located at Nazelles-Négron in the Indre-et-Loire department, is a historic monument registered since June 27, 1962. This 16th century manor house was a former fiefdom of the seigneury of Amboise, highlighting its local importance in the feudal hierarchy of the time. The architecture of the mansion reflects the characteristics of the Renaissance, with decorative elements such as the canned pilasters and a vertical hooded chimney decorated with arcatures.
The manor structure consists of two buildings built as an extension of each other, probably on close dates. The main facades retain their stone-crossed windows, typical of this period. An interior room is particularly remarkable thanks to its decorated fireplace, which bears witness to the architectural refinement of the time. These elements contributed to its classification as a historical monument.
Protected elements include the façades, roofs and chimney of the East Building Hall, as per the 1962 Registration Order. The mansion is located precisely at 59 B Villefrault, in the commune of Nazelles-Négron, whose Insee code is 37163. Although the information on its current use (visits, rental, accommodation) is not specified, its status as a historical monument makes it a notable architectural heritage of the Centre-Val de Loire region.
