Origin and history
The two menhirs of Lampaul Huellan, called Prat-Tuntauren and Prat-Rous-Cerch, are located in Trémargat, in the Côtes-d'Armor department in Brittany. These megalithic monuments date from the Neolithic and were erected in a marshy bottom, 21 metres apart on a north-south axis, in the flow of a spring. Both are granite, with distinct dimensions: Prat-Tuntauren is 2.55 m high, while Prat-Rous-Cerch is 2.80 m high.
These menhirs were classified as historical monuments on 18 January 1968. Their precise location is indicated as being 5017 Lampoul Huellan, 22110 Trémargat, with a location accuracy considered fair. Their protection reflects their heritage importance in the region.
Sources available, including Wikipedia and Monumentum, also mention a bibliographical reference: The Megaliths of the district of Guingamp de Loïc Langouët (2006), which provides additional details on these monuments. Their presence is part of the wider context of the megalithic sites of Côtes-d'Armor, a region rich in prehistoric remains.
