Origin and history

The Moulin de Denneron is a monument located in the commune of Saint-Saturnin-sur-Loire, in the Pays de la Loire region. This type of construction, typical of the Loire banks, bears witness to the historical importance of mills in the local economy, often linked to milling or other craft activities dependent on hydraulic force. Mills, like Denneron's, played a central role in the lives of riparian communities.

They allowed the processing of cereals into flour, an activity essential for the feeding of local populations. Their presence also reflects the social and economic organization of the territories crossed by the Loire, where water was a major resource for the development of villages.
