Origin and history

The Departmental Museum of Prehistory in Solutré is located in an emblematic place, known for its rich archaeological past. The aim of this museum is to preserve and enhance the prehistoric remains discovered in the region, particularly around the famous Roche de Solutré site. This type of museum plays a key role in the transmission of knowledge about the lifestyles of ancient populations.
