The Tourves Oratory is a religious monument built during the 3rd quarter of the 17th century. The oratories, frequent in the rural areas of Provence, often served as places of prayer or stopover for travellers and local inhabitants. In the 17th century, this region was marked by a rural life centred around agriculture, livestock and artisanal activities. Religious monuments, such as this oratory, played an important social and spiritual role in communities, strengthening ties between the inhabitants and their faith.
The building is protected by an enrollment order dated September 18, 1937, which demonstrates its heritage importance. No additional information is available regarding its sponsor, architect or any specific historical events associated with it. The data come mainly from the Merimée database and Monumentum, without precise architectural or iconographic details.
