Facades and roofs: inscription by decree of 6 June 1933
Origin and history
The Pavilion, located in Maisons-Laffitte in the Yvelines, is a monument whose precise history remains little documented in the available sources. Only its facades and roofs have been officially protected since a decree dated 6 June 1933, attesting to its heritage interest. Its exact address, 2 rue de la Muette, is confirmed by Merimée bases and GPS coordinates, although the accuracy of its location is considered poor (note of 5/10).
In Maisons-Laffitte, as in many communes of Île-de-France at the beginning of the 20th century, the bourgeois pavilions and residences are multiplying, reflecting the rise of residential suburbs linked to the expansion of the Parisian railway. These buildings, often of eclectic or neoclassical style, served as resorts or main residences for an affluent population. Their preservation, like that of the Pavillon, bears witness to the importance attached to this local architectural heritage, although archives sometimes lack to trace their detailed history.
