Pont du Gourgaret sur la Bresque (no CADASTRE box; PUBLIC AREA): registration by decree of 5 July 1981
Origin and history
The Gourgaret Bridge is an art building located in the commune of Salernes in the Var department. This bridge, which spans the Bresque, has been included in the inventory of Historical Monuments since 1981. Although its period of construction is not specified in the available sources, its status as a protected monument demonstrates its heritage importance for the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region.
Historical bridges such as the Gourgaret bridge played an essential role in local exchanges, facilitating the movement of people and goods. In south-eastern France, these infrastructures were often linked to village development and exploitation of natural resources, such as water or agricultural land. Their preservation makes it possible today to understand the evolution of construction techniques and communication networks in these territories.
