Origin and history

The beech bridge, also known as the Arches Bridge, is located on the border of the communes of Lardy, Bouray-sur-Juine and Janville-sur-Juine, in the Essonne department. It allows the crossing of the river Junee and gives its name to the rue du Pont de l'Hêtre in Lardy. Its construction dates back to the 18th century, although some sources suggest a possible origin in the 17th century.

The building is distinguished by its unique arch structure, characteristic of the bridges of this period. It was listed as a historic monument on May 18, 1926, recognizing its heritage value. The bridge is now owned by the municipality of Lardy and remains an emblematic element of the local landscape.

The available sources, including Wikipedia and Monumentum, confirm its status as a historical monument and its precise location at 5 Rue du Pont de l'Hêtre. Its inclusion in the inventory of historical monuments in 1926 underlines its architectural and cultural importance in the Île-de-France region.
