Origin and history

The portal currently visible in Provency is an architectural element originally from Annay-la-Côte, a municipality located in Yonne. This portal, whose precise dating is not mentioned in the available sources, was moved and reassembled in the hamlet of Marcilly, in the territory of Provency. Its listing in the Historical Monuments Inventory by order of 25 April 1955 bears witness to its heritage value, although details of its style or sponsor remain unknown.
