Origin and history

The Protestant Temple of Queuleu is a religious building located in the city of Metz, in the Greater East Region. Ranked as a Historic Monument, it is distinguished by its recent inscription in 2025, which protects both the building, its park and the remaining fence elements. Its location, between Rue du Roi Albert and Rue du Dix-Novembre, makes it a local landmark in the district of Queuleu, integrated with the urban landscape of Metz.

This temple illustrates the importance of Protestant heritage in an area historically marked by various religious influences. Protestant temples, often built or renovated after periods of religious tension, served as places of worship but also as a gathering for reformed communities. In Metz, a city with a complex military and religious background, these buildings bear witness to the cultural and spiritual diversity of Lorraine, now integrated into the Great East.

Their preservation, like that of the temple of Queuleu, allows us to keep this collective memory alive.
