Origin and history
The set of defensive habitats of the Lucs-sur-Boulogne, located in Vendée (Pays de la Loire), dates from the Middle Ages. This site features characteristic elements of medieval military architecture: a rampart of land with its ditch, three feudal mottes, and the ruins of an ancient castle.
