Origin and history
The church of Saint-Barthélemy de Raix is a religious monument located in the commune of Raix, New Aquitaine. Dating from the 12th century, it illustrates the ecclesiastical architecture of this period, marked by Romanesque influences and a central function in community life. In the 12th century, churches like Saint Bartholomew of Raix served as places of worship, assembly and refuge for local people.
