Origin and history

The church Saint-Quentin de Jussy is a religious building located in the commune of Jussy, in the department of Aisne, in the Hauts-de-France region. Built in an Art Deco style, it embodies the reconstruction architecture that followed World War I, marking a period of renewal for devastated territories.

The new church was blessed on September 20, 1925, when its three bells were also baptized. These bells, named Quentine-Maria-Sophie, Marie-Georgette-Ida and Alphonsine-Alice-Amanda, symbolize the spiritual and community revival after the destruction of the war. Their godparents, from the local population and clergy, reflect the collective commitment to this project.

The bells, of 800 kg, 560 kg and 450 kg respectively, bear the names of local and religious figures, illustrating the close links between the church and Jussy's social life. Their presence attests to the importance of the sound and religious heritage in the collective memory of Hauts-de-France at the beginning of the twentieth century.
