Origin and history

The Château de Saint-Cyprien, listed as a Historic Monument, is a 18th-century Louis XVI-style hotel. Its architecture is characterized by a four-column portal and two composite ionic pilasters, topped by a column-framed window and a triangular pediment. The building rests on two terraces accessible by steps, while a wing in square was added in the 19th century.

The castle park, designed by landscape architect Edouard André at the beginning of the twentieth century, completes this architectural ensemble. It was partially damaged during the December 1999 storm. The castle and its park, including terraces and water, were the subject of successive protections: listing of the castle in 1949 and the park in 2002.

The exact address of the monument is the 6 Route de Bergerac in Saint-Cyprien (Dordogne), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. The protected elements include the castle itself, as well as the entire park with its landscape features. No information is available about its current access to the public or its contemporary uses.
