Origin and history

Quiberon is a listed historical monument in the municipality of Quiberon, in the department of Morbihan, Brittany. This type of structure, typical of the collective or individual burials of antiquity or the Middle Ages, bears witness to the funeral practices of the local populations at a time not specified in the available sources. In the Breton region, tumular terraces were often associated with funeral or memorial rites, reflecting the social and spiritual organization of the communities.

These monuments, scattered throughout the landscape, also served as territorial or symbolic landmarks. Their preservation now allows us to study the traditions and beliefs of the former inhabitants of the area.
