Origin and history

The Pigeon Shooting of Vittel, located at They-sous-Montfort in the Vosges, was built between 1928 and 1929. This wooden monument, integrated with the sports facilities of the spa, replaces a former golf club cottage dated 1905 and moved in 1928. It illustrates the expansion of leisure activities related to thermalism in the early 20th century.

Designed by architect Fernand César for the Société Générale des Eaux Minerales de Vittel, this pigeon shot reflects the functional and playful architecture of the spas of the time. It was listed as a Historic Monument by decree of 22 November 1990, stressing its heritage importance in the local landscape.

The building, owned by a private company, is part of a broader set of infrastructures dedicated to well-being and leisure, typical of French spas. Its location in They-sous-Montfort, close to Vittel, strengthens its link with the industrial and tourist history of the Grand Est region.
