Vallet House is an emblematic house located in the medieval village of Peruges, in the department of Ain. Built in the 15th century, it embodies the civil architecture of this period, with characteristic elements such as its preserved facade and traditional roof. The building is closely linked to the urban history of Peruges, a fortified village whose enclosure and cobbled streets still bear witness to its medieval past.

Listed under the title of historical monuments by order of 11 October 1929, the Vallet house owes this protection to its remarkable elements: its facade overlooking the Rue des Rondes, its roof, and the portions of ramparts that depend on it. These ramparts, integrated into the structure, recall the defensive role of dwellings in the fortified cities of the Middle Ages, where each building contributed to collective security.

The village of Peruges, ranked among the most beautiful villages in France, offers a preserved setting where Vallet House is a material testimony of everyday life in the 15th century. At that time, the region, then integrated into the Duchy of Savoie before joining the Kingdom of France, lived mainly in agriculture, crafts and local commerce. Houses such as the Vallets served as both a dwelling, a workshop and sometimes a storage place for merchants or artisans, reflecting a social organization where private and professional spaces were often confused.
