Origin and history

The villa Le Bosquet is a residence located in the Cannet (Alpes-Maritimes), built in the 19th century. This building with no particular architectural character is distinguished by its pink crepi and two-slope tile roof. Surrounded by a garden, it offers a dominant view of Cannes. The villa was acquired in 1926 by painter Pierre Bonnard (1867-1947), who lived there with his wife Martha from 1927. This place has profoundly marked his work for more than twenty years.

The botanical garden and the villa itself, modernized by Bonnard, were classified as historical monuments on 26 March 2007. The building was also awarded the "Twentieth Century Heritage" label, highlighting its cultural and artistic importance. Today, the villa Le Bosquet embodies the heritage of the painter and his link with the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region.

The precise location of the villa is 29 Victoria Avenue, Cannet, in the Alpes-Maritimes department (code Insee 06030). The protected elements include the villa and its entire garden, according to the 2007 ranking order. Available sources, such as Wikipedia and Monumentum, confirm its status as an emblematic monument of the region.
