Origin and history
Château du Bois-Jourdan is a building located in the commune of Bouère, in the department of Mayenne, in the Pays de la Loire region. This monument, typical of local buildings, is part of the French architectural heritage and bears witness to the history of this rural area.
The castle has been the subject of two successive inscriptions to historical monuments. A first order, dated March 18, 1980, marked his heritage recognition. More recently, a new decree of 30 September 2022 replaced this first protection, thus confirming its cultural and historical importance.
Like many castles in the region, the Bois-Jourdan is part of a landscape marked by agricultural and artisanal activities. These monuments often served as residences for influential local families or surrounding land management sites. Their presence reflects the social and economic organization of the French countryside throughout the centuries.
