Origin and history

Senarpont Castle is a building located in the municipality of the same name, in the Hauts-de-France region. Although its existence is attested, the available sources do not specify its period of construction or its architectural or historical evolution. This monument remains partly mysterious for historians and heritage enthusiasts.

The castles of this region, often linked to feudal or seigneurial history, played a central role in the territorial and social organization. In Senarpont, as in other localities in the Hauts-de-France, these buildings could serve as a noble residence, a place of defence or a symbol of power. Their presence generally reflected the strategic or economic importance of the surrounding territory, marked by agricultural, artisanal or commercial activities at different times.
