Origin and history
The Buisson Castle is a historic building located in Brécy, in the department of Aisne (Hauts-de-France). Built between the 13th and 19th centuries, it is distinguished by its architecture combining medieval elements and subsequent additions. The castle consists of two floors, two towers (a round and a pentagonal), a chapel, a guard room, vaulted undergrounds and communes. These characteristics reflect its evolution throughout the centuries, with architectural changes marked in the sixteenth, eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
The castle is associated with the Marquis d'Armentières (Armentières-sur-Ourcq), although the details of this possession remain unclear in the available sources. It was listed and classified as historic monuments in 1981, recognizing its heritage value. The site also includes a remarkable natural element: the threshold of the Ordrimouille River, located in the castle park, which was registered by decree in April 2024. This detail highlights the landscape and environmental importance of the field.
The legal protections specifically cover the facades and roofs of the castle, as well as the chapel, the guard room and a two-sided staircase. These protected elements testify to the architectural and historical richness of the monument. Although the information on its current use (visits, rentals, accommodation) is not specified in the sources, its status as a Historic Monument makes it a place of interest for the preservation of regional heritage.
