Origin and history
Talaud Castle, located in Loriol-du-Comtat in the department of Vaucluse, was erected in 1757. This iconic building, inscribed in historical monuments since 13 September 1988, illustrates 18th century architecture in the region. In particular, it was owned by the Marquis Grid of Estublon, a local figure of the time.
The Château de Talaud estate is now operated via a CESA dedicated to viticulture, with a production labeled AOC Ventoux. Unique on the town, its vault is integrated into the castle, which also houses a hotel activity. This dual vocation, both agricultural and tourist, makes it a dynamic site anchored in Provencal wine heritage.
The castle is listed in the Merimée base, reflecting its architectural and historical importance. Its link with the Ventoux appellation and its inscription in the title of historical monuments reinforce its status as an essential local heritage, between preservation and economic valorization.
