Origin and history
The Château de la Buzardière is a building located in Changé, in the historical region of Maine, France. Built after the Hundred Years War around 1453 by Guyon de Clinchamp, it was initially a manor house before being enlarged and modified until the 18th century. The chapel, added in 1520, and the house of the chaplain are now restored, while the rest of the castle, which became a hunting appointment for Nicolay's family, suffered from the weather.
The monument has been listed as a Historic Monument since 13 April 1928. It is located 5 km east of the village of Changé, in the department of Sarthe, and bears witness to an evolutionary architecture marked by its successive transformations. Its history is linked to local noble families, notably the Clinchamps and the Nicolays, who made it a place of residence and then hunting.
The precise location of the castle is indicated as 3 La Buzardière, 72560 Changed, in an area classified with satisfactory accuracy (level 7/10). The site, although partially degraded, retains protected elements such as the chapel and the house, reflecting its heritage importance in the Pays de la Loire region.
