Origin and history

Château du Boisrenault is a building located in the municipality of Buzançais, in the Centre-Val de Loire region. Although its existence is attested, the available sources do not specify its construction period or detailed history. This monument therefore remains partially mysterious for local historians.

In the Centre-Val de Loire region, castles have often played a central role in the social and economic organization of the territories. In Buzançais, as in other rural communes, these buildings could serve as seigneurial residences, agricultural management sites or defence points. Their presence generally reflected the importance of the local noble or bourgeois families, although the archives specific to the Boisrenault castle did not allow to say more.
