The Château de Boissède is located in the commune of Boissède, in Haute-Garonne, in the heart of the Occitanie region. This monument, whose detailed history remains partially documented, is best known for its dovecote, the only element currently protected under the Historical Monuments. The inscription by order of 24 October 1996 underlines its heritage interest, although the available sources do not specify the exact time of its construction or its architectural development.

Monuments such as the Château de Boissède often show the central role of seigneuries or farms in the Occitan countryside. In medieval and modern times, pigeons were social markers, reserved for wealthy landowners or lords. In this rural context, they were also used to produce manure (colombine), which is essential for fertilizing land.
