Origin and history

Fantauzzi Castle is a monument located in the municipality of Morsiglia, Corsica. Built during the first quarter of the 20th century, it bears witness to the architectural and social changes of that time on the island. Available data remain limited, but its existence reflects the local dynamics of construction and occupation of Corsican coastal territories in the early twentieth century.

At that time, Corsica was undergoing economic and social transformation, with a predominantly rural population and activities focused on agriculture, fisheries and livestock. Buildings such as the Fantauzzi Castle could serve as residences for wealthy families or as prestige symbols in an island context marked by traditional social structures. These buildings were often part of a landscape where the links between communities and their built heritage were strong, although the precise sources on this monument remain rare.
