Origin and history
Château Belair is an iconic monument located in the commune of Talence, in the department of Gironde, in the region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Built at the extreme end of the 18th century, it consists of a main body flanked by two low wings. This castle, initially a house, became the seat of an important vineyard before being transformed into a wine estate with a broken dardian roof.
Since 6 March 2009, Belair Castle has been listed as historic monuments. This protection covers the entire castle, including its fence on Clement-Thomas Street and its two half-moon gates. The site, located at 33 rue Clément Thomas, bears witness to the architecture and wine history of the Bordeaux region.
