Origin and history

Anserville Castle is a building built between the late 18th century (from 1789) and the second quarter of the 19th century (until 1833). It replaces an older castle with some 18th century interior remains. Located in the commune of Anserville, in the department of the Oise (Hautes-de-France), it embodies the historical and landscaped centre of the village, surrounded by the remains of its French-style park and an adjacent farm.

The castle is distinguished by its architectural sobriety, with facades and roofs made of cut stone. These elements, as well as its park, were listed as historical monuments by order of 8 November 1990. The building reflects the architectural and landscape transformations carried out between the French Revolution and the July monarchy, periods marked by profound social and aesthetic changes.

Although the source text does not mention specific sponsors or architects, the castle of Anserville illustrates the evolution of aristocratic residences in rural areas. Its inscription as a historic monument underlines its heritage importance, both for its architecture and for its role in the spatial and social organization of the village. The French-style park, typical of the noble houses of the 17th and 18th centuries, also bears witness to the landscape heritage of this period.

Today, the castle remains a central point of Anserville, with an approximate location at 8 Grande Rue, although the sources do not specify its current accessibility (visits, events, or accommodation). Its Insee code (60088) and its attachment to the arrondissement of Beauvais confirm its anchoring in the Picard territory, now integrated into the Hauts-de-France region.
