Origin and history
Blaise Castle is located in the municipality of Colombey-les-Deux-Églises, in the hamlet of Blaise, Haute-Marne. This monument, whose facades and roofs of the outbuildings as well as the dovecote are protected, is included in the Supplementary Inventory of Historic Monuments since 1987. Its location, 23 km from Chaumont, makes it a notable heritage element of the Great East.
Available information on its history and architecture remains limited. The castle is representative of the rural properties of the region, often associated with agricultural or seigneurial activities. The dependencies and dovecote, typical of the estates of this period, suggest a function both residential and economic, linked to the exploitation of the surrounding lands.
