Origin and history
The castle of Gensac-sur-Garonne is an 18th-century building, built in a rectangular plan. Four pavilions mark its angles, while a prominent cornice separates the ground floor from the floor. The entrance door, in full hanger, is completed at the back by a rectangular window door, reflecting an architectural symmetry characteristic of this period.
The lords of Gensac are attested from the 12th century, although the present castle dates from the 18th century.
