Origin and history

The castle of Jaillac is a former castle located in the commune of Mériot, in the Aube department, in the Grand Est region. Today, only fragmentary elements remain, including four bridges linking the national road to the historic site. These remains bear witness to the past importance of this building, although its detailed history and period of construction remain unknown.

The only part of the castle still protected is its access road, listed as historical monuments in 1996. This partial classification underscores the heritage value of the rare elements preserved, while revealing the almost total disappearance of the original structure. No additional information is available on its architecture, owners or specific historical role.
