Louis XVI Salon and Library with their decor (Box AD 109): inscription by order of 15 October 1971
Origin and history
The Château de Lampinet, located in Navenne in Haute-Saône, is an iconic 18th-century building. Ranked a historic monument since 1971, it is distinguished by its architecture and its preserved interiors, including a Louis XVI style salon and a richly decorated library. This castle illustrates the aristocratic heritage of the region under the Old Regime.
The monument is located on the outskirts of Vesoul, in a rural context marked by the influence of local elites. In the 18th century, castles of this type often served as secondary residences for wealthy families, while playing an economic and social role in the surrounding countryside. Their preservation today bears witness to the cultural and architectural heritage of Burgundy-Franche-Comté.
The Château de Lampinet, owned by the commune of Navenne, is partially protected: its Louis XVI lounge and its library, with their original decoration, were registered by ministerial decree in 1971. These elements reflect the refinement of the noble interiors of the era, combining art and functionality. The building, although less documented than other regional monuments, remains a significant example of the local castral heritage.
