Origin and history

The Château de Badin, located in the commune of the same name in Haute-Garonne (Occitanie), is an 18th-century building characterized by symmetrical architecture. It consists of a rectangular two-storey building, flanked by two wings of commons forming a square return. The interior courtyard, bounded by these buildings, is closed by a brick gate adorned with an 18th century grid, reflecting the architectural style of the period.

The central span of the façade, slightly protruding, is surmounted by a volute decorative pattern and a cornice, typical elements of provincial classicism. The estate also includes a dovecote, while facades, roofs, gate, fence wall and dovecote are protected under the Historic Monuments since 1993. Together, now owned by an association, illustrates the evolution of seigneurial residences in rural areas.

The location of the castle, specified by the Merimée base (address: 1 Rue du Château, 31190 Badin), confirms its anchoring in the landscape of the Haute-Garonne. Although the sources do not mention any major historical events related to the site, its architecture and protected elements testify to its heritage importance in the Occitanie region, marked by a rural history and characteristic brick constructions.
