Origin and history
Pinsaguel Castle, classified as a Historical Monument, is an architectural complex marked by three major construction periods: the 13th and 14th centuries for its medieval origins, and a significant reconstruction at the end of the 18th century. The latter reshaping gives it its current structure, organised around a court of honor lined with buildings on three sides. The main house body, flanked by two wings and raised pavilions, illustrates the influence of the classical styles of the era, with a facade decorated with brick pilasters and surmounted by a pediment.
Inside, the castle preserves remarkable decorative elements, such as living rooms with false painted panels, a vaulted room on a cross-wall inherited from the medieval period, and a small chapel. The outbuildings, including brick farm buildings, extend the wings back and testify to the residential and agricultural vocation of the estate. The whole, including the farm, was entered in the inventory of Historic Monuments by order of 22 December 1941, highlighting its heritage value.
The architecture of the castle reflects a stylistic evolution from a medieval defensive structure to a seigneurial residence and then an integrated agricultural estate. The rounded windows, the two floors of the wings, and the harmony between the materials (brick, stone) characterize this monument. Although the sources do not specify the sponsors of the transformations, the site embodies the successive adaptations of a noble building to the functional and aesthetic needs of each era.
Located in Pinsaguel, in the Haute-Garonne region of Occitanie, the castle is located at 144 Chemin Berthier, according to the GPS coordinates available. Its exact address is referenced in the Merimée database under the Insee 31420 code, confirming its anchoring in the Toulouse territory. Practical information concerning its openness to the public, its possible visits or services (room rental, guest rooms) is not detailed in the sources consulted.
