Origin and history

The castle of Saintines, located in the eponymous commune, dates from the 1st quarter of the 16th century. This historic monument is now integrated into an old match factory, demonstrating further industrial reuse. Its dungeon, the only protected element, was inscribed by ministerial decree on 23 February 1951, stressing its heritage importance despite a context of approximate localization (level 5/10 according to sources).

The official address of the castle, registered in the Mérimée base, is the 5535 F Rue du Château in Saintines (code Insee 60578), in the department of Oise. Although the visual sources are limited (photo licensed under Creative Commons of unknown author), the site retains a record of its medieval past and its adaptation to modern times, notably through its integration into an industrial complex.

Practical information on opening up to the public, renting rooms or services such as guest rooms is not specified in the available sources. The monument remains above all an architectural vestige whose historical value lies in its dungeon, symbol of the residential fortifications of the Renaissance in Picardia (now Hauts-de-France).
