Origin and history
The castle of Luart and its communes, located in the municipality of the same name in Sarthe (Pays de la Loire), date from the 2nd quarter of the 19th century. This monument, partly listed in the inventory of Historic Monuments since 1989, includes facades, roofs, an orangery and a chapel. Its architecture reflects the stylistic influences of the time, with masters identified as Delarue and Eugène Landron.
The inscription by decree of 24 April 1989 specifically concerns the facades and roofs of the castle, as well as its communes, orangery and chapel, located in the cadastre under plots B 704 and 705. The site, identified as La Ferme du Château, is associated with the commune of Luart (code Insee 72172), in the arrondissement of Le Mans. The GPS location, although noted as fair (level 5/10), allows to situate the monument in its rural Sarthois environment.
Available sources, including the Merimée and Monumentum base, highlight its status as a Historic Monument without specifying its current use (visit, rental, accommodation). The associated photo, licensed under Creative Commons (Smoke It, 2013), illustrates its contemporary state, while internal data confirms its anchoring in 19th century local heritage.
