Origin and history
The Château de Saint-Bauzille-de-Putois is a historic monument located in the Hérault department in the Occitanie region. Although its exact period of construction is not specified, it is recognized for its remarkable park, which at the time of its protection housed a maze of box maze garden as well as a sophisticated hydraulic system. These elements, combined with the architecture of the castle, make it a notable heritage site in the commune.
The castle was partially protected by a registration order dated 7 August 2009. This decree specifically covers the facades and roofs of the building, as well as the entire park, bounded by its old enclosure. The box maze and hydraulic system, rare and valuable features, were explicitly mentioned as elements to be preserved.
These protections highlight the cultural and historical importance of the site, although little detailed information about its history or its former owners is available from current sources.
